                            Master Director Lynn Hartmuth

Master Director Lynn Hartmuth
Lynn Hartmuth has nearly 40 years of Sweet Adelines experience, both as a singer and chorus director.  She earned many regional and International medals performing with the Seven Hills and Gem City choruses.  With the score earned by her Queen City Chorus at the 2004 IES Harmony Classic, Lynn advanced to the level of Sweet Adelines International Master Director.  Early in 2007, Queen City Chorus merged with Seven Hills Chorus to form the Cincinnati Sound Chorus.  In their first Regional competition since the merger, the new chorus won the Region #4 chorus championship under Lynn's direction, and Cincinnati Sound will represent their Region at the 2008 International Chorus Competition, to be held in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Lynn began her Sweet Adelines career by attending rehearsals of the Seven Hills Chorus with her mother, Nancy.  One thing led to another, and when she turned fifteen, she was right up there singing with the chorus.  Soon, her sister Donna joined in too, and the entire family was involved in the wonderful "hobby" of Barbershopping.  Lynn's father, Frank, directed two local men's barbershop choruses and sang with the International Champion Southern Gateway Chorus

She has sung in several quartets over the years, and was only eighteen when she joined her first quartet, Love 'N' Sound.  They became Regional Quartet Champions in 1973, and International semifinalists.  Lynn sings vocals with her mom and sister in her dad's dance Band, The Variety Pak.  She currently sings Lead with Lasting Impressions.

Lynn is the Sweet Adelines International Region #4 Education Coordinator.  She teaches classes at regional music schools, which keeps her busy studying and planning.  Lynn is also a much-in-demand coach and trainer for choruses in Region #4 and other regions around the country.

Lynn credits her vast Sweet Adelines and Barbershop knowledge to her family barbershop roots and a host of mentors, including International Award-winning directors Jean Barford and the late Tom Gentil.

We are pleased and proud to have Lynn as our Chorus Director.  She is a special friend to each of us, and her musicianship and spirit inspire us all and make our Sweet Adelines experience fun-filled.
