At Cincinnati Sound Chorus, leadership extends well beyond the Director. Our Assistant Directors play a vital role in guiding the chorus to musical and organizational success, bringing their own expertise, perspectives, and leadership to every rehearsal and performance.

Lydia and Leslie currently serve as Assistant Directors, working closely with the Director to support the musical growth and artistic excellence of the chorus. In addition, we are proud to recognize Libby and Kathy as Assistant Director Emerita, honoring their lasting contributions and continued legacy of leadership within Cincinnati Sound.

Our Assistant Directors help ensure continuity and momentum by leading warm-ups, directing repertoire, and offering individual and ensemble coaching. Through their work, they support the chorus in refining vocal production, musical unity, and expressive performance, while fostering confidence and growth in every singer.

Why Assistant Directors Matter

  • They provide multiple musical perspectives and teaching styles

  • They ensure continuity and support when the Director is unavailable

  • They contribute specialized skills in vocal technique, interpretation, and performance

  • They help cultivate a positive, encouraging environment where singers can thrive

A Collaborative Approach

Our Assistant Directors collaborate closely with the Director, Music Committee, Section Leaders, and Visual Team to ensure that each rehearsal is effective, engaging, and inspiring. Their contributions strengthen the chorus both musically and culturally, reinforcing the supportive, welcoming environment that defines Cincinnati Sound Chorus.

We are deeply grateful for their dedication, passion, and leadership, and we are proud to recognize them as an essential part of our ongoing musical journey.
