Cincinnati Sound Chorus – Where Passion Meets Harmony

Founded in 1957, Cincinnati Sound Chorus is the tri-state’s premier treble-voice barbershop chorus. We are a vibrant and dynamic community of singers united by a shared passion for vocal harmony. As a proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) and part of Harmony Heartland Region 4, we specialize in four-part a cappella harmony rooted in the barbershop tradition.

With more than 60 members—and growing—our chorus brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds, professions, and generations. From young adults to retirees, from seasoned vocalists to enthusiastic amateurs, each member contributes to our warm, supportive, and inclusive culture. At Cincinnati Sound Chorus, everyone has a place—and every voice matters.

Our members continually strive for musical excellence through ongoing education, weekly rehearsals, public performances, and participation in regional and international competitions. Each year, we compete in the Harmony Heartland Region 4 contest, where top choruses from across the region vie for the opportunity to advance to the international stage.

Cincinnati Sound Chorus has a proud history of achievement, including:

  • Representing Region 4 at the SAI International Contest in Honolulu (2008)

  • Earning a silver medal at the World Choir Games in Cincinnati (2012)

  • Winning 1st Place in the AA Division and 1st Overall at the 2024 Harmony Heartland Region 4 Contest

  • Placing 16th at the 2025 Sweet Adelines International Competition and Convention in Columbus, Ohio, competing among the finest choruses from around the world
