Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Sound Chorus recently made a remarkable showing at the Sweet Adelines International competition, placing 16th out of 31 choruses from around the world.

For director Jack Johnson, it was his first time leading the chorus on the international stage. More than half of the chorus members were new to this level of competition. The group delivered a strong performance in the semifinals and embraced the experience with enthusiasm and professionalism.
“It was an incredible week of learning, singing, competing, and growing together,” Johnson said. “I couldn’t be prouder of our chorus for how they rose to the occasion.”
The chorus also acknowledged the invaluable guidance of their coaches – Kim Wonders, Natalie Allen, Melody Hine, and Lori Lyford – who dedicated their time and expertise to help the chorus refine their sound and performance.
Looking ahead, Cincinnati Sound Chorus hopes to do well at the 2026 Regional competition in Covington, aiming to secure a spot at the 2027 International competition in Seattle. With a strong foundation and a wealth of new experience, the chorus is excited for the next chapter in its journey, inspiring both its members and audiences alike.
